Square Yo' Splits Workshop
It's cool to be square - in your splits! This class recording focuses on helping students understand the importance of practicing square splits (and when it's OK to not be "square"), as well as active flexibility drills to help train square splits. Expect a lot of work on pesky hip flexors!
Prerequisites: None. This class is open to all levels - stretch variations will be demonstrated for folks who are still quite far from flat splits, as well as other variations for bendier folks who already have flat (or close to flat) splits.
What you’ll learn:
The role of hip position, glute engagement and hip flexor flexibility in “square” splits
How to check if your hips are square in a split
Active flexibility exercises for your hamstrings and hip flexors
A full 60-minute flexibility & conditioning routine you can follow-along to work on your square splits
Recommended props:
Two yoga blocks
Some wall space
