Bridge Drop Back from Standing Workshop
Who this workshop recording is for:
This 60-minute workshop is intended to help students learn how to safely drop back into a bridge from standing without a spotter (don’t worry, we’ll be using the wall for folks who aren’t 100% ready to dive back solo yet). Note: this is not a yoga-style class (although you may recognize some yoga poses in some of the drills)!
Prerequisite: Able to comfortably hold a bridge (aka “full wheel” for you yogis!)
What you’ll learn:
Exercises to safely train your strength & flexibility to drop back to a bridge from standing
The importance of core strength for deep backbending
The difference between a “Big C” shape drop back and a “Little C” shape drop back
Active flexibility drills for back and shoulder over-reach to help get hands to the ground sooner in your drop-back
A full 60-minute flexibility & conditioning routine you can follow-along to keep working on your drop backs
Recommended props:
Strap (yoga strap, theraband, scarf, or even a pair of leggings can work as a strap)
Yoga blocks (or something you can use to prop up your hands/legs like a foam roller or small stack of books)
A wall
Upon checkout, you will receive a PDF with a link to the workshop recording (Squarespace limits file upload sizes so I can’t actually upload the whole recording here). The recording is for your use only, not to be shared with others - thank you!
