Around-the-World Splits
Who this workshop recording is for:
This 60-minute "begintermediate" (and beyond!) level workshop is for students who want to learn how to roll through from a front split, through a straddle, to a front split on the other side. We'll focus on active flexibility to deepen both our front and middle splits, as well as to strengthen our hip *rotation* in these positions for a smooth transition.
This 60-min follow-along routine includes:
Drills to engage and strengthen our hip rotators in our front splits and straddles
Active flexibility drills with an emphasis on hamstring, hip flexor, and adductor flexibility to flatten our splits and widen our straddles
Recommended prerequisites:
Flat splits are not required, but the closer-to-flat your front splits are, and the wider your straddle is, the easier this skill will be! At a minimum, students should have a “close” to flat front split on both sides (hips 6” or closer to the floor) to get the most out of this workshop.
Recommended props:
Yoga mat
2 yoga blocks
Note: Because of Squarespace’s file size limitations (which is what I use for this wonderful website!), upon purchase you will receive a PDF with a private YouTube link to the recording.
